Kawasaki have changed the oil filter on the W 650 and you need a new filter cap because the old one is too short ( as you have rightly noticed the new filter is longer) I got the filter cap changed by Kawasaki without extra charge lately. Lieber in manchen Augen eine Zicke, als gleichgeschaltet
no worries, you can use the short filter with the long cap. The other way does not work.
But you have still a view k to go before it is necessary to change the filter.
Friedo
Thanks for clearing my doubt Friedo, my W400 has 600km on the odometer today and I expect it to hit 1,000km in another week. I will try to search for the long filter in Singapore again but in case I couldn’t get one when my bike clocked 1,000km, I will use the short filter. I am new to motorcycling and I am a little bit concern of the design of different oil filter even though they look interchangeable. Will the spring tension value of the bypass valve different from oil filter to oil filter?
I just changed the oil and the filter and I still use the short version. It fits 100%. In my opinion there is no bypass valve in the filter, but who knows maybe hidden.
An odometer is a device used for indicating distance traveled by an automobile or other vehicle. It may be electronic or mechanical. The word derives from the Greek words hod?s, meaning 'path' or 'way', and m?tron, 'measure'.
