(wrong button I gess) German bikers in the street of Avignon and why you ride a lot, summer is coming anyway, should be nice in your place why here you are just stunned by the heat Wilfrid from Avignon
Thanks W-astl! And I have to say, that is one of the coolest W's I've seen. I really like bikes that are bits and pieces of other bikes. And to Ursula who had to turn on the heat, it's 33 C here, so enjoy the cool for those of us who don't have any. fatstring
W-astl, I hope this link works; https://webspace.utexas.edu/acv253/www/ The first pic is my stock exhaust (auspuff?) getting cut. The second picture is my homemade BSA style headlight bracket. And the last picture is what my bike looks like now, nothing so special as yours, but I'm getting closer and closer. fatstring
ey Fatstring, very thanks for the cool link. I enjoy the pix very well. Some of my friends are german members of the 59ers Club. I will travel to Ace-Cafe in September for the "Ride with the Rockers".
see you on the road

Joris, I thought I saw pictures of your bike with clip-on style handlebars. Are you using clip ons? If you are, what size are they (38mm?), and who makes them? Oh, in case anyone is not liking their weather, it is supposed to get to 37C here tomorrow. Thanks, fatstring
There are some pictures of my W on the yahoo group. Yes it has clip-ons, 39mm if I remember right but it is a long time ago. My clip-ons are from a Kawa ZX6R racing kit. Great stuff, full aluminium, great looks, but on the pricy side (I got them on sale from my dealer for 200 Euro)
If I had to buy Clip-ons again today, I would go for Tomaseli or Tarozzi.
Joris, You are right, that Italian stuff looks fantastic! The Tomesali's are nice looking. I'm really trying to find a used set of Telefix clip-ons, but they are not real common here in the U.S. What does your bike look like now? The same as on the yahoo site? Actually it was the pictures of your clip ons that made me really want them. And to Duck Dunn; What does your bike look like? fatstring (sweating in Texas)
Hello Fatstring, I had to check the pictures again in order to be able to reply . No, the bike is different today. The most remarkable modification is that the top yoke is different. I have machined the 'eyes' down and polished the yoke. That is actually the master piece on the bike today. Also, it has smaller indicators.
Unfortunately, since I moved to Sweden I have no more webspace with pics showing the mods.
I will browse my pc and see if I have any newer pics.
I saw some nice W pictures on this site under "Motorrad"-->"Die Tankembleme aus Japan sind da!!"-->page 1 (the one after page zero, obviously) Red tank, nice emblem (possibly Japanese?!?!). Beautiful. This is for those of us not speaking the Deutsche and still understanding a good looking bike. Buh-bye fatstring
you're right, the emblems are from Japan. One of our Members here lives and works in Japan, so he checked it out and send them to us. They are no plastic, it's metal. One advantage is also, that they thinner than the originals. This may be important, if you want to want to mount a M-bar. Meanwhile I also have a M-bar, but it fits with the originals. Nevertheless I have also a pair of this rhombic emblems, but not mounted(yet?). It's a "nice-to-have"
