Thanks for your sympathy you all, and I also managed to change my front brake pads, thought for a while the pistons (that's french for the little golden things that push the pads) were stuck but coud get them off, clean them and after a hell of a time could make the brake works again. Gonna try now, if no more post from me it means that either I forgot again my password or I am a lousy mechanic Wilfrid
Hello everybody W riders are the nicest in fact, but everyone should know that So I survived, the brake was a little bit soft but got back its average hardness after a while (mind you the brake, nothing else ), in fact I think the service should be done with a special aparatus. A good thing is to see a little bit of life here, so Sebastian thank you. Wilfrid
I agree with you Joris and decided to give it to a professional next time, but I regularly fix my brakes on my cars and bikes*, just need a little bit of patience and attention, in this case I couldn't push back the pistons, so I had to get the whole unit out, blow some air into them (2 bars with a foot pump ) to get the pistons out, clean them and put them back. After that it was very long to get the air out, I had to move the unit in all position till the brakes reacted, set them again and the first Km were "soft reaction". In fact I'm pretty sure you need a pressure machine to inject back the liquid into the unit, that's why I won't try again. I will "purge" check the presence of air again and if any leak appears, so I should be allright, but thanks for your care Wilfrid
