Hi there

I have a flat battery and the local bike shop is having trouble finding a suitable replacement in a decent brand.

What brand and model number do you guys and gals use? A well known brand here is Yuasa, anyone use that?

So you are saying all the bikes you listed use the same sized battery?

If this is the case it should be no problem, I will go back to the shop with my list.

Hi Claire,

yes; this should work!

It MUST be a "maintainance free" battery (don't know the English word).
The battery is only filled once before installing / fitting it. There is no need to refill it during it's whole life (like "normal" motorcycle batteries).

But a motorbike dealer should know what you need when you show him the list!

The 12V 8AH are important!
Size about 152 x 88 x 106 mm.

now it should be no problem to get the right battery in the whole world.
We have 5 brands now (I edited the text above) and a list of motorbikes using the same battery.

The most common designation seems to be "YTX9-BS".

The guy from the shop left a message on my phone this afternoon suggesting it was a YTX9 BS.

Now I can confirm it is.
