About me:I am in the Baden-Baden area. My W is also a 1991, the last four are 0518 (I saw that sombody was asking for that kind of info somewhere in this FORUM). Yes an American in Germany. It is snowing now, but yesteray I took it (W) for a nice hour drive. ok it was COLD!
Hi, Tom Welcome by the crazy germans So, you'll be the first American to join us at the Group meeting in May? Lieber in manchen Augen eine Zicke, als gleichgeschaltet
as far as I know, you're the only American here. The others are all on http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/W650riders/ but as to that you're too far away from them - check out the frappr map, there's bound to be some of us near you -maybe you can take the odd ride with one of them on a weekend.... but beware - some of us are registered in the yahoo group.... *wink* Lieber in manchen Augen eine Zicke, als gleichgeschaltet
Thanks for the info on the Yahoo site, I have been to a couple other sites as well (English speaking) as I like to see what other people have done with thier bikes, as well as tips on keeping everything working. For example the rust problem with the fenders that I am working on....
Just for the record, I can read German quite well, but I make mistakes when I write it, Der, Die, Das FOR EXAMPLE and I have seen on this site as well, people notice that very quickly... (I speak it pretty good too!)
So how do I should I make my comments in the other (German) sections of this Forum???
any comments? it looks like just about all of you can read English right???? so maybe I should just write in English, ....or would all of you rather see (and laugh at) my German???
Gruß, Tom

I see no problem when you use English in the german sections. Could be interesting. But we wouldn´t laugh about your German. We have Dutch here - you can´t top that. Try both if you want and have a good time here!
Last time I spoke a bit more English was 20 years ago in New England. I just try it now in a simple way, so you only have to overcome your inhibitions (Hemmungen überwinden?).

Mon général you will certainly be welcome, I saw that Emjey gave you some some advice and that you seem ready about your gears (bidon de vin rouge etc.). I also noticed you can be as talktative, and may be more, than us in the south, but babel fish is quite useless to really understand you. When your itinary will be set you could put it in the French forum in case some local wistes feel like meeting you. I, or Emjey, can do it I guess. I meant posting your itinary, but also meeting you if you stop by Avignon! Vive la Deutchland Wilfrid
About the itinary: You'll find an overview of it in the TOUREN FORUM-Thread "Pyrenäen-Tour 2006", on page 12 (19.12.2005). For further information call AXEL JÄGER (jaegax@gmx.de) by an e-mail, he could send You the complete route in detail.
