Hallo W-Jungs und W-Mädchens,

wenngleich ich nichts mit irgendwelchen Kirchen am Hut habe und auch nicht zu Motorradweihen oder anderen Voodoo-Veranstaltungen pilgere, habe ich mir dieser Tage ein nettes kleines Heftchen mit „Irischen Segensgebeten" gekauft. (auf Deutsch, trotz des Titels)
Manches fand ich richtig nett und so will ich Euch eins nicht vorenthalten:

Möge der Regen sanft über deine Felder streichen,
die Sonne dein Land wärmen.
Jeder gute Samen, den du säst, soll Frucht tragen,
der Spätsommer finde deine Felder in voller Pracht.
Der Frost schade nie deinen Kartoffeln,
die Blätter deines Kohls sollen frei sein von Würmern,
die Krähen nie deinen Heustoß zerwühlen.
Wenn du eine Eselin erbst, soll sie ein Junges tragen.
Das Glas in deiner Hand sei immer voll.
Das Dach über Deinem Kopf immer dicht.
Und sei eine halbe Stunde im Himmel,
bevor der Teufel merkt, daß du gestorben bist.

Naja, muß nicht jedem gefallen.....

Desiderata

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labours and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
